The Way Through The Woods by
Rudyard Kipling
2" x 1 1/2"
50 pages, 19 illustrations
"They shut the road through the woods
Seventy years ago.
Weather and rain have undone it again,
And now you would never know
There was once a road through the woods..."
Kipling's spooky, sweet, and melancholy poem, first published
in the
Marlake Witches chapter of REWARDS AND FAIRIES.
You never see the
ghosts, but they're there.
Bound in brown and gold French marbled paper, with a spine of
iridescent navy blue snakeskin paper. The illustrations are of forest
lanes and trails that get more overgrown and darker as the poem goes on.
