The Phenix Pocket Globes
1 7/8" x 3 1/8" x 1 1/4", and the globes are 3/4" in diameter
This is a matched pair of pocket globes, terrestrial and celestial,
from the globe gores engraved by Giovanni Cassini in 1792. They are
cased in a box bound in antique gold paper, with trim and lining of
blue and gold French marbled paper. The box is topped with two antiqued
brass dragons holding a faceted lens that covers and magnifies the
box's title.
